Changing a Flat Tire

No matter how well-maintained your tires are, there may come a time when you have a puncture through circumstances outside your control. If you are stranded because of a flat tire, you will need to know how to change your tire.

Make sure you have the correct tools in your car: a spare tire, a lug wrench, and a jack. Practice removing and replacing a tire at home to be prepared. Firstly, slightly loosen the lug nuts, then jack up the car as directed by the vehicle's manual. Remove the lugs, then the tire. Put the spare on, add the lugs in the correct sequence for either a 4- or 5- lug wheel and partially tighten the lugs. Lower the vehicle, then tighten the lugs fully.

When you get back into Reading, bring your vehicle in to Piazza Mitsubishi as soon as possible, and we will check the spare and replace it and any other tires that may need replacing.
